Field Notes

Description:

Flight slow among grass and low vegetation. Settles often on stems and flowers. Two subspecies in SA. The pinkish-copper blush of Eicochrysops messapus mahallakoeana is absent from this subspecies.

Habitat:

Hillsides, flatlands and mountain.
