Another pic I have was taken in Pennsylvania. Geesh. I'm going to double check all my pics!
Thank you for clearing things up, Jamie. In that case this is definitely H. harrisii.
I'm trying to correct all the locations. This photo was taken when I lived in Brooklyn, NY. Now I live in New Mexico.
Could you check the date/location for this spotting? Another spotting says that it was found in Pennsylvania on the same date while this one says New Mexico.
Hi Jamie, Halysidota tessellaris is only found in eastern North America, and their larva is grayish with a black head. The scientific name should be H. harrisii or Halysidota sp.
This looks very similar to H. harrisii, though the range of that species only extends to Texas. Perhaps the range is large than we know.
