Field Notes

Description:

California Condors are critically endangered animals who have been slowly reintroduced into the wild after being declared "extinct in the wild" in 1987. I saw these condors near Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon National Park in July 2013. One swooped mere feet above my two-year-old nephew's stroller. I think he may have fancied him as a snack! They are beautiful and wonderful and I feel blessed to have seen them in person.
