Field Notes

Habitat:

On the verge of a park pond next to a large thicket leading to a strip of wooded land in the midst of my neighborhood. I see them all the time around here. This rabbit was spotted in the evening as I was walking my dog. It didn't seem too intimidated by my dog (and she's not small), even let us pass within about 15 feet of it.

Notes:

Note the rusty red patch on the back of its neck.
