bayucca, Love your passion for the species !
I am still not very happy this one being Pieris brassicae. We should try another effort...
Thanks so much, team bayucca and Marta RubioTexeira :)
Looking at the markings I am happy with Pieris brassicae, but I am not happy with the rectangular-like patch at the edge of the forewing. Brassicae usually have a strongly marked "bow-like triangle", not a square and some "drops"... For me this one looks like being Pieris napi, female, however, without the strong markings on the dorsal site, which is quite common (seasonal and generation). http://www.123rf.com/photo_7567290_female-of-green-veined-white-pieris-napi-isolated-on-white.html Best match with markings, click on the picture to magnify! http://lepidoptera.nature4stock.com/?attachment_id=74 http://www.rutkies.de/schmetterlinge3/Pieris%20napi%20-%20Gruenaderweissling%20w03.html What do you think!! I let you think 2 weeks about it, I am on holiday right now...
