Field Notes

Description:

Family: Libellulidae. (Meadowhawk) Male - Length: 31-39 mm. Wingspan: 45-55 mm. Thorax and abdomen are bright orange/red with black spots/pattern on abdomen. Small transparent wings with one light black spot on each tip of the wing. Deep red eyes.

Habitat:

Lawn, residential neighbor near woodlands. Did not notice pond or water source.
