Thanks for your help with the ID.
These definitely have the look of Australian freshwater turtles. The one on the right we have the best view of, and that it is where I made my best guess of the Suggested ID above (see that link I provided). They are probably at least in the genus Emydura from Australia. More species listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emydura
