Description:

The purple moorhen is a beautiful bird with purplish-blue plumage. It has a long red legs, a red beak and a red forehead. It has a white patch under its stubby tail, visible when the tail is flicked up.

Habitat:

Reedy swamps, overgrown lake banks.
