Field Notes

Description:

This is a mediuium sized, brushfooted butterfly, with a 1- ½ to 2-½ inch wingspan. The overall color is yellow-brown from above, but has two prominent intricately-colored eyespots on each of the fore and hind wings and additional white, red and marginal markings. Butterfly is pollinating the ground cover.

Habitat:

Open grassy field with scattered wildflowers.
