Field Notes

Description:

The moths rest in a characteristic posture with their thick furry-looking legs splayed in front of them, and their wings raised roof-like above them such that the irregular edges to the inner margins of the forewings protrude upwards. The forewings are always cryptically patterned in shades of brown or grey, giving the moths the appearance of small bits of wood or fragments of dry leaves.

Habitat:

This species is found in cloudforest at elevations between about 500-1500m.
