Description:

This side-by-side shot of a harbor seal (left) and a grey seal (right) illustrates the differences between the two species faces. The grey seal has a more hooked nose, while the harbor seal has a more dog-like nose and big, puppy-like eyes.

Habitat:

These two were part of a big group of nearly 100 seals sunbathing near Mt Desert Rock lighthouse in the Gulf of Maine. They were spotted from College of the Atlantic's research vessel Osprey during a weekly supply run to the island.
