Zygiella x-notata

Field Notes
Description:
Orb webs are built by most species at night. The spider may walk from one bridgehead to another carrying along a line, but usually the spider sits with its abdomen in the air and lets the wind pull out a silk thread. If the thread touches, a bridge is established. If not, it may be pulled back and eaten. The web is replaced every few days.
Habitat:
Found all over the world.
