Thanks. I thought it was a gopher tortoise, but "she's" so big. I've seen the little guys. And helped them cross roads, but she's 3 times their size.
Congrats on spotting one of Floridas "keystone" species! While the tortoises themselves don't "do" much, many many species depend on their burrows for survival . Many of these are endangered species. (Tortoises don't seem to mind their roommates.). A fascinating life history.
