yes, thanks bayucca... and Nuwan!
Pam, i know nothing about neotropical moth taxonomy :-) thanks bayucca for the research!
Thanks again Nuwan... Seems your ID is the current name for this moth.
thank you bayucca. So I'll return it to Nuwan's original suggestion. Naming some of these moths is quite complicated, isn't it? Thanks for all your research.
I did a research about the correct name. It seems that we have a conflict. EOL and Bold, usually reliable and trustable resource have it as Eucereon and according to Ollerenshaw 2011 it is Theages. http://www.nhm.ac.uk/research-curation/research/projects/lepindex/search/detail.dsml?TaxonNo=34524.0&UserID=&UserName=&&listPageURL=list%2edsml%3fsort%3dSCIENTIFIC%255fNAME%255fon%255fcard%26SCIENTIFIC_NAME_on_cardqtype%3dstarts%2bwith%26beginIndex%3d30%26SCIENTIFIC_NAME_on_card%3ddecora%26recLimit%3d30&searchPageURL=index%2edsml%3fsort%3dSCIENTIFIC%255fNAME%255fon%255fcard%26SCIENTIFIC_NAME_on_cardqtype%3dstarts%2bwith%26beginIndex%3d30%26SCIENTIFIC_NAME_on_card%3ddecora%26recLimit%3d30 I do not know which one is no the correct one, I guess it is Theages decorata, since this is the most recently updated. Sometimes it takes quite a longtime for updating such huge databases like EOL and BOLD. I will leave a comment on the EOL page that they check the names once more.
thanks bayucca. Nuwan I changed the name to the one bayucca suggested. What do you think?
To my knowledge, this one is now called Eucereon decoram: http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxid=157882 http://eol.org/pages/29474375/overview
