Field Notes

Description:

Usually,very low growing, small, creeping plant. Green, oval leaves on a tan or reddish hairy stem. Tiny pale flowers at leaf junctions. Produces a milky sap from the major stems and leaves that is known to be a skin irritant.

Habitat:

Suburban yard. Grows in the cracks in the pavement frequently.

Thank you for the information! I have corrected the scientific name. Sometimes it is difficult to figure out which names are the most current.
The ID is correct. Euphorbia is technically the correct genus and Chamaesyce is technically a synonym now in case you're interested. I like Chamaesyce but I can't argue with the genetic data.
