Description:

Seemed to be all red when flying but when it settled it had some black spots but was in an awkward position to photograph, wrong side of the fence on a steep bank.<br>
Maybe 1 cm long.

Habitat:

Coastal marshes

Notes:

Thanks for the ID Daniele, according to this site http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo237754.htm it is known as a Harlequin Bug. Another site calls it a Seed bug.
