Description:

the annual dog-day cicadas of summer that are larger than their periodical cousins and have black eyes and a body that has a green and black pattern on the thorax. The dog-day cicada appears every June until September.

Habitat:

Backyard of a home very near a man-made lake. Pyamtuning Lake, Andover OH, Ashtabula County, USA.
