Habitat:

Abundant along the banks of the Shark River (Jersey Shore NJ) - on the shrubs, weeds and reeds.

This individual is a male. Photos 2-3 show the dragonfly perching in the obelisk position, in which the tip of its abdomen is pointed toward the Sun in order to control body temperature.
