Field Notes

Habitat:

Native to North America it grows in sandy soils and other kinds of soils in sunny areas by roadsides, disturbed fields, wood edges, etc.

Notes:

Flowering along the roads. Beautiful spherical flower heads resemble a burst of fireworks and look very different from the tropical milkweeds I'm used to seeing in my area.
