Description:

Not sure of my ID, any help appreciated.

Habitat:

Pond on mountain airfield at 3,700' (1,130 metres) with scattered bushes.

Species ID Suggestions

Common blue

Polyommatus icarus

I'm also not 100% but if you look at pic 2 there is evidence of transverse dark lines running across the white borders and these are not present on the Common Blue - see the "Similar species" section near the bottom of this page http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php?species=icarus Mine seems to be midway between the two.
I'm not really 100% sure to have you correctly suggested, I hope so, let's see what the experts say :)
