Field Notes

Description:

The Lady Smock is a plant found in pastures and grassland, which can also be found in marshy areas as was the case here. It is native to Scandinavia, Iceland and the Faeroe Islands. In Iceland it is found all around the island, with the exception of some dry desert areas north of Vatnajökull.

Habitat:

Marshy area in floodplain, Skaftafell National Park. Last shot shows habitat.

Notes:

I seem to miss a shot of leaves for this plant. It has numerous basal leaves in rosettes. This plant is closely allied to C. pratensis and much like C.p. subsp. angustifolia from arctic America.
