Description:

The Common Redshank is seen here in its breeding plumage, a rich marbled brown color. These Eurasian waders have red legs and a black-tipped red bill. In Iceland it is the the only common Tringa species. In the breeding season they prefer marshes, moist meadows and grasslands as seen here.

Habitat:

Coastal meadow, a shared breeding ground with many other seabird species (see nearby spottings).

Notes:

Another bird that loves protesting your presence. They often pick-up good viewpoints like fence poles to watch out for intruders.

Maybe it has chicks hidden in the grasses and is warning them, like the oystercatchers do.
It does look like sneezing doesn't it? I think it was just protesting my presence even though I was quite far. I could not spot its partner in the area at the time but did not spend too much time looking as we were being dive-bombed by terns :-)
looks like he/she sneezes at the end..or perhaps calling? :-)
