Field Notes

Description:

Family: Pipilionidae (swallowtails) Possibly 4th instar or end of 3rd. Length: 1 inch (25 mm). Host plant: Spicebush (Lindera) Bright green and yellow with black eyes with blue. Belly of abdomen is pinkish with blue spots.

Habitat:

Meadow/woodlands edge. Brought home to raise and feed and observe changes.

Notes:

3rd series in a set of 6 changes/spots.
