Field Notes

Description:

As I was watching for hummingbirds, I was sitting next to the neighbor's fence, and I noticed this nice-sized (about 1 inch) on the fence. It cooperated pretty well while I was photographing it. I think this was an adult female. I've never seen one, so ID help would be appreciated.

In the 1st photo, if you look below the pedipalps, you can see one of the fangs! Its shiny and just the point of it, but I thought it looked pretty cool.

Habitat:

My neighborhood; urban

Notes:

There was a hint of green in the fangs (2nd photo).

Species ID Suggestions

Yeah the abdomen shots were pretty much just for identification.
Thank you! Which one do you think it is between putnami or carolinensis? It really looked a lot like the first link you listed for the carolinensis, but I don't know for sure. Do either have green fangs (look at the second picture)?
She's beautiful! I would say she's probably from the putnami group: http://bugguide.net/node/view/83490/bgpage Possibly Phidippus carolinensis: http://bugguide.net/node/view/32486/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/6787
Thank you! This one was a little calmer than some of the smaller species from other genera. It did jump into my lens once, but then just crawled right back out!
