Description:

large water-dwelling plant,
leaves feel and look a bit like plastic

Habitat:

small 'pond' of about 7 to 8" deep, tropical climate

SukanyaDatta, thanks for your suggestion, but I dont think this is the one: the flower petals of this spotting are way thicker than the ones of Eichornia crassipes. also, they lack the distinct, brigt yellow/orange spot.
