Description:

This insect was so tiny that to the naked eye it just looked like a red dot that was moving on a grape vine tendril. It wasn't until I cropped the photo a lot that I saw it was red with white spots. I'm guessing it is a type of mite. BugGuide hasn't been able to help.

Thanks, Sergio; that taught me something. I have never seen such an amazingly tiny beetle before!

It is not a mite, Maria, because it has 6 legs (mites have 8). Also, the head is separated from the body. This and the antennae say beetle to me.
