Hi Reza, you are very sweet to send a message! You are very welcome. Congratulations on your 100th mission spotting! Wasps are pretty cool and I'm very fortunate to live within the boundaries :)
Dearest Cindy, Thank you SO MUCH for being such a huge contributor to my tiny mission and making it reach one hundred sightings. I could not have done it without you and your wonderful posts :)
Thank you very much, John! I always wondered how to tell them apart :)
Cindy - Nice pics and a great series. However, this is an Ichneumonidae not a Braconidae. These two families can be very difficult to tell apart, and discrimination is usually done based on wing venation (which, fortunately, you can see in your pictures). Pictures of these differences can be seen at http://ponent.atspace.org/fauna/ins/fam/hymenoptera/ichneumonoidea_par.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichneumonidae
