Field Notes

Description:

A small mushroom with a bright red cap and coarse almost white gills visible through the top.

Habitat:

Found in wood chips in a garden bed at a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Photographing the underside can be dangerous when there are other photographers about but we must make sacrifices for science.

Note the pesky reflecion of the ring flash
