Field Notes

Description:

Bracket polypore covered with woody pellets (most likely insect droppings from a wood borer, although there were no obvious holes in the log above the bracket itself). Two other brackets were found on the same log, possibly younger and older specimens of the same species. Approx. 5-6 cm in diameter. The older specimens had very dark pores. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a photo of the younger one.

Habitat:
