Description:
A great example of why the species of this family are called Jewel Beetles. This one has all colors of the rainbow in its metallic coloration. It is also quite hairy for a Buprestid, with long white setae on the upper side and dense hair on the underside. The underside is mostly a metallic bronze in color (last picture). About 1.5 cm long. Family Buprestidae.
Habitat:
This species is not often seen. From the highland forests of Chiapas, Mexico. 2,200 meters.
