I have some tricks for getting 'closer' to these without them flying away. Use the camera on maximum zoom. Cannot see the screen? 2 options. 1. Find an old instamatic film camera, take out the viewfinder and stick it on your camera body, make sure it is lined up and then keep the object as near centre as possible. 2. Get some black cardboard and sticky tape and make a box tube to fit over your screen, the longer the better but make it slightly pyramid shaped so both eyes can see in at once. You can be 10 feet away but 10x zoom will make it like 1'.
