Field Notes

Description:

Can easily recognized by its reddish fur and a white underbelly. They are also smaller in size than the other squirrels.

Habitat:

They are usually can be found hanging in spruce trees I believe they are. Munching on pine cone seeds and dropping the rest to the ground below. Creating these big piles of pine cone shavings I guess you would say. And I'm not sure but I think they borrow into these piles making little holes. Unless that's another animal taking advantage of a good nesting area. But I'm not sure it's either or. Cause I think the squirrels live in nest made up in the trees.

Notes:

The squirrel is eating nuts out of an off brand trail mix bag. That the neighbors left out on their front porch. They are listed on the endangered species list. Good news is there is a lot of these little guys behind my house. In the little woods.
