Mountainside about 6,000'.

Ours are usually snow-covered from October/November through till June/July. The temperature at the top was close to 100ºF on this day yet 10 days earlier there was still some snow visible on the peaks. There is a saying that Madrid area has 9 months of winter and 3 months of hell! It took us 6 hours to walk/climb to the top of this one and back to our base, so a speed of about 2 kph!
Mt Diablo is snow topped in the winter. It is too huge to explore! I wish I could though!!
Looking at some of the pictures of Mt. Diablo the area looks very similar to ours both habitat and weather-wise.
What is so eerie is that we have the same kind of grasshopper on Mt Diablo. Elevation is 5000ft
