Field Notes

Description:

This is a large moth. It measured 14 x 8 cm. There are 2 Lyssa sp. on the Papua list: Lyssa macleayi and L. toxopeusi.

Habitat:

Observed on the outside wall of a house (under a light at night), surrounded by a large semi-urban yard & garden, near to a disturbed patch of remnant lowland forest, in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
