Interesting fact! There are 13 kestrel species worldwide, but the American kestrel is the only one in the western hemisphere. These diminutive raptors typically hunt insects and small mammals, perching on poles and power lines whilst they search for their prey. They can sometimes be seen atop stadium lights tracking moths attracted to the powerful light beams. Some of their hunting flights have even made it onto TV sports coverage! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153177828985603&set=a.10152575329380603.958289.10150120463815603&type=1
