Field Notes

Description:

An unknown caterpillar in the genus Heterocampa. Looking at its size, it looks like a very early instar.

Habitat:

Found dangling from its silk along the sandy pine barrens at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. I moved it back to a leaf on the tree it was on.
