Description:

Spotted this Coot with chick at Venus Pools Nature reserve,Shropshire.
37cm fully grown waterbird

Habitat:

Often accompanies Swans and other waterbirds. Spends most of the day on the water often diving for food.Breeds on large lakes town ponds and gravel pits.Will go to the sea during frozen weather.
Eats both plants and animal materials
