Field Notes

Description:

Yellow butterfly with black stripes. Quite large, an estimated wingspan of 5 to 5.5 inches. Lack of blue color on tail. Butterfly is pollinating Zinna flower in a butterfly garden.

Habitat:

In our well documented backyard habitat. They love the zinnas.

Notes:

I used the size and the lack of blue tail coloring to distinguish it from the smaller western tiger swallowtail.
