Field Notes

Description:

I've found this little beauty lying on the sidewalk at the exit of our train station. At a glance I thought it was a big worm, but then just realized it was a small snake!
She appears to be bigger in the pictures, but her length was about 30cm I guess, and she is thinner than my finger.
She was all nervous, retracting like in the second picture and sometimes opening the small mouth to show the tiny teeth. So cute!
I just got her from the sidewalk and returned her to the grass (before somebody could step on her) where she disappeared in a second.
I imagine if her parents are around, and if yes, if they are dangerous :/

Habitat:

There is a lot of green areas around Mount-Royal, so it's difficult to say for sure. A lot of trees can be seen in the place where she was spotted, as some tall grass too. The place on the map is the exact location where she was spotted.
