Thank you.. I was quite lucky when I see this.. But it still quite common in here, specialy in embankment and paddyfield.. Mostly I've seen on the tree, nesting in the big colony.
Wonderful photo. Not often seen like this anymore either in Australia. Have seen rapid decline in last 20 years.
You might find this of interest, Sad fact though. Happening all over. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9069200 It discusses about "Heavy metal and selenium concentrations in feathers of egrets from Bali and Sulawesi, Indonesia."
I think that the other one is Egretta Intermedia which is the Intermediate Egret.
Mona,looks like there are two kinds of Egrets. One seems to be Little Egret," Egretta garzetta" the second one I will have to check.
