I've done the storm preps many times. Food is good :) Water, torch, batteries, gas, etc. It puts everything into perspective. We had a cyclone alert for Brisbane a few months ago, but it fizzled out to nothing. My stomach was in a knot for a couple of days though. Fingers crossed everyone is ok in those regions affected in India.
Thanks Neil.Kolkata seems to have escaoed lightly...just a fewdilapidated or old buildings collapse and uprooted trees...at least that is what is on TV.I am not venturing out till Monday...only then can I know for sure....Thankfully have enough food to face a seige and feed the army....but they are saying the worst is over.Orissa , particularly, Puri and Bhubaneshwar have been devastated though...it is home to an almost 900 year old temple and a tourist destination...however now that Cyclone Fani is almost exhausted we may begin the march to normalcy. Thanks again.
So glad to hear you're ok, Sukanya. Any storm surges across the delta or flooding in Kolkata? Just the anticipation of a cyclone is bad enough, let alone the storm itself. Definitely prayers for Bangladesh.
Thank you Daniele.Cyclone Fani really battered Orissa but thankfully Kolkata seems to have escaped comparatively lightly compared to what was forecast. I hadcandles and matches etc at the ready but thankfully still have electricity and Saturday morning is like a monsoonday...nothing more.Prayers for Bangladesh.
I've seen there's really bad weather coming your way Sukanya... I hope you'll be safe.
