Description:

This group of wild rainbow lorikeets is taking advantage of the feeders at the Melbourne zoo. There is a flock of over fifty birds here and they seem to be more common throughout Melbourne with each passing year.

They are very noisy when in such a group. Very large groups are known in suburban habitats where food sources are available. I particularly enjoyed finding a nest nearby. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/14573294
