Field Notes

Description:

Short, stocky heron. Yellow-green eye ring. Yellow feet. Dusky brown-gray mottled feathers.

Habitat:

Urban wetland in eastern Seoul.

Notes:

This young heron flew in about 7:15 am, just as I was leaving my sit spot for the morning. Luckily, it landed near the northern bank of the pond which is right next to the path I take home.
