Scorias spongiosa

This is the initial stage of this fungus that grows exclusively on the honeydew of the beech blight aphid( http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/38023161 ). The blue color seen in pic 2 and 3 is the honeydew from the aphid. The sawdust looking mass in the other pictures will continue to feed off the aphid excretions, gradually the outermost hyphae will cease to grow gaining pigmentation and producing reproductive structures.
