Description:

This small bird dropping moth, Ponometia erastrioides, is a member of the Acontiinae subfamily in the family Noctuidae. Other members of the subfamily Acontiinae also appear as bird dropping mimics. This moth is about the length from the fingertip to the cuticle of one's nail.
