Laura here is a link to the full size picture, download it and see what the app says: http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bLiw26QhoUUc24FHzRfYPoS78X0SY9qrSYk1glzeze3b4LTpJ1m49J5TYb-oRDlZ725F4FioYXzVqZOIWjp8uw=s1600
I have discovered this wonderful phone app called Merlin Bird ID. When I am having trouble IDing a species, I open the app, select my photo of the bird, and the app IDs the bird in the photo! ...happy birding!
Sweet little bird. Persevering in the snow. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Definitely not a House Sparrow. Your bird has a long, greysh tail, maybe with white outer feathers but this could be due to the poor focus or camera processing, and a greyish head with pale supercilium, brownish wings without the white wing bar and streaky brown sides to the breast. None of these are features of a House Sparrow. I was thinking Song Sparrow is closer but not found in that part of the world. Maybe another species of Sparrow. By the way, if you could crop and resize your pictures before posting they would display better.
