Field Notes

Description:

The lace monitor is the second largest monitor lizard in Australia and can grow up to 2.1 metres. This one seemed to be considerably smaller than that, although we could only see its head.

Habitat:

Seen by the banks of the Upper Noosa River.

Notes:

We were cruising in our kayak when we heard rustling from the banks and this little head popped up for a while to check us out.
