Could these be a variety of Pond slider (Trachemys scripta)?
Okay then that would make sense about it being turtles that were brought in. I am pretty sure these are River Cooters then
Hello AshleyT, this was taken in the Garden of the Groves in Freeport.
Hi MT63, can you provide some information about where you saw this turtle? I can't find any information on turtles in the Bahamas other than sea turtles, so I don't think there are any native ones. This looks like an older River Cooter, Pseudemys concinna, which is native to the US.
