Description:

Laphria flava with unidentified prey. Laphria flava belongs to the family of robber flies (Asilidae). They are predatory and feed on smaller insects which they paralyze by injecting neurotoxic and proteolytic enzymes through their proboscis.

Habitat:

Forest clearing/grassland, Southern Bavaria, Germany
