Description:

Green-eyed grey and brown Metalmark, Family Riodinidae. The males are more metallic blue on the upper wings (see Marta's spotting from the Yucatan, Mexico: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7344013/fullscreen) whereas the females are more grey-brown as is this one. The green eyes are wonderful to see! Marta also includes a picture of the underside of the wings.

Habitat:

Along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
